A Profile of Erick Lindgren: Winner of the PPT L.A. Poker Classic Tournament
Born and raised in the beautiful town of Burney in California, U.S. professional poker player Erick Lindgren was the major winner of the L.A. poker classic tournament of the Professional Poker Tour. While the event was generally considered as a freeroll invitational event, the various participants still played their hearts out in a quest to be called champion of all champions. After a successful opening at the World Poker Finals, the tour provided the world of poker with another major highlight in the form of this very exciting and fun-filled poker tournament.
To emerge as champion in the end, Lindgren has to outlast hundreds of highly qualified individuals en route to the title and a $225,000 payoff. Throughout the competition, things has never been easy for the young man, who was placed in many problematic situations especially after cruising past the much easier elimination rounds. After being touted as an early favorite to win the tourney, Lindgren proved his worth by calmly executing his moves en route to another major victory.
From the hundreds of outstanding professional poker players who joined the L.A. Poker Classic, only six tough and smart individuals were allowed to compete in the thrilling final table event, one of which was Lindgren. From the start of the event, he showed that he is well prepared for some high level of competition. From a bevy of talent present, which includes the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Chris Bigler, and Dennis Waterman, Lindgren surpassed them all in classic fashion. Completing the list of his ill-fated victims on top of the poker table are excellent individuals like Allen Krell and Asher Derei.
Although the victory of Lindgren at the L.A. Poker Classic was really impressive, it was just an icing on the cake. As one of the most established players of the game, he has made some important victories and accomplishments in the international poker circuit. Aside from the Professional Poker Tour victory, he has also played excellently in the various tournaments of other major poker events such as the World Poker Tour and the World Series of Poker.
In the World Series of Poker alone, even though Lindgren has yet to win any major title in this event, he has already made an impressive run of 14 money finishes. Furthermore, he has also won a couple of major titles in the World Poker Tour, one of which was the WPT PartyPoker Million III tournament. Aside from the major titles, he has accumulated a total of five final table appearances and 16 money finishes as well.
